Traffic Control - Lights, Stop/Go, Stop Works & Temporary Obstructions
Event-ready traffic control systems including stop/go boards, portable lights, obstruction signage, and 15-minute delay control — all fully compliant with Chapter 8.
Need safe, compliant control over event traffic? We’ll set it up — and staff it too.

Traffic control is a key part of safe and efficient traffic flow at events. Whether it's managing vehicle access on narrow lanes, creating temporary junction control, or allowing for brief road closures, we supply the equipment and operatives needed to do it safely and legally.
Our Lantra-qualified operatives and M7 Technical Officers can deploy and manage a wide range of temporary traffic control systems, suitable for all single carriageways and dual carriageways up to 40mph.
Why It Matters: Improper traffic control is one of the most visible — and risky — aspects of event TM. Failure to follow legal protocols or use correct signage and equipment could put your team and the public at risk, or lead to enforcement action.

Temporary Traffic Lights
Used for controlling flow through narrow routes, junctions, or single-lane operation. Must be approved for use on the public highway and compliant with guidance from the Pink Book. Portable lights must be legally authorised by the local authority, especially for multi-phase setups.

Stop and Go Boards
Ideal for short-term or manual control on low-speed, low-volume roads. Use is limited by the Red Book and is not suitable for high-speed routes or where visibility is reduced. Operatives must be trained and positioned safely.

Stop Works Board
Used to temporarily hold traffic for site operations (e.g., crossing operatives or placing signage). Must only be used by trained TM staff and not for prolonged delays. Highly effective for brief interruptions without requiring a TTRO. Maximum use of 2 minutes in every 15 minute period

Temporary Obstruction - 15 minute delay
For closures under 15 minutes without requiring a formal TTRO. Signage and site setup must still follow Chapter 8. This is often used for rapid movements like trailer exits or event build-phase moments but must be controlled by trained operatives. Maximum use of 15 minutes in every hour
